Artist Mentor

Over the past few years, the foundations studies department has an artist mentor for the Sand Arts event. The mentors are faculty, alumni or guest artists. The mentors speak to classes, give workshops and offer ideas and advice to the students to design and execute their sand creations.

This year’s SCAD Arts alumni and faculty mentor was Gerry Stecca. He is known for making sculptures out of clothespins.

He mentored students for their creations and also created his own sculptures for this year's Sand Arts Festival.
